COMMERCIAL REHAB PROGRAM

WHAT IS IT?

Do you own or lease a commercial building on Artesia or Aviation Boulevard that needs a "face lift"? Here's a great opportunity to get it done. The City of Redondo Beach offers cash funding to commercial tenants and landlords for building improvements.

WHAT ITEMS QUALIFY FOR FUNDING?

The program's purpose is to improve the appearance of commercial storefronts along Artesia and Aviation Boulevards. Eligible improvements include:

• new signs
• awnings
• exterior painting and power-washing
• replacement or repair of doors and windows
• roof repairs
• correction of code violation items

WHAT AMOUNT CAN I RECEIVE?

The Commercial Rehab Program will fund 60% of the cost of eligible improvements up to $10,000 per 50 lineal foot lot ($6,000 City share) to either a landlord or business tenant applicant.

The City will also, at no cost to you, provide beyond the grant up to $2000 towards architectural and design services related to the project.

In addition the City offers a separate $2000 no matching grant for correction of building code violations and related improvements. The City will also reimburse all permit fees.

Any commercial property located within the boundaries shown on the map above is eligible to apply for the Commercial Rehab Program. Applicants must comply with regulations of the City and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Staff is available to assist you with all the necessary steps to make your project a reality.

The Commercial Rehab Program is funded through the City's Community Development Block Grant Program.
